In the Italian kitchen, cooking rice and cabbage is traditionally used. This however is a healthy twist to this dish. Enjoy it as a dish on its own, or as a side dish. . Ingredients : Black / Heirloom / forbidden rice Boiled water - I use alkaline pH 10 Red cabbage Onion Garlic Himalayan salt Cayenne pepper It's also good adding some cardamom, caraway or anis I like using my LeCreuset pan for this. Chop the onion and garlic, fry it with some coconut oil. Add the rice and seasoning and fry it a bit more. Add boiling water, add the cabbage and let it sit under a lid on low heat for about an hour. .
Using black rice has SO many health benefits. Actually the normal way of using this rice is in health food products.
